Bespoke Silk Fabric,

Designed by You

From our Green Point, Cape Town showroom, we supply silk fabric by the metre. Choose from our stock colours, order it undyed, or have it custom printed or dyed.

Dressmakers, designers, textile artists and brands order from us, as do private clients.

For printed and dyed orders, you approve a strike off or lab dip before production begins.

Tell us what you need. Share the fabric, colour and metres you have in mind, and we will return with options, pricing and a delivery time.

The Un-Dyed Canvas

PFD means Prepared for Dyeing (sometimes PFP, Prepared for Printing): natural white silk, scoured and ready to take colour.

01

Choose your base

Every base is listed with its usable roll width, 114cm or 140cm.

  • 8mm Chiffon, 114cm
  • 8mm Georgette, 114 to 140cm
  • Organza, 140cm
  • 10mm Habotai, 114 to 140cm
  • 16mm Satin, 140cm
  • Crepe de Chine, Twill, Satin Spandex, 140cm
02

Sample and approve

Test our undyed silk in your own studio before you order by the metre. Use the swatches to:

  • Check dye absorption
  • Check shrinkage
  • Run a test print
If we are printing or dyeing for you, we do a strike off or a lab dip before production. A strike off is a sample piece of your print, and a lab dip is a small dyed swatch. You approve it before we start. For colour we need a Pantone TPX code, or a CMYK or RGB breakdown. We have a Pantone book if you need to review colours.
03

Order by the metre

Buy the length you need, in whole or part metres.

  • Minimum 1 metre orders.
04

Shipped to your studio

Your silk is sent directly to your studio.

  • Delivery time is calculated on order.
  • We confirm it with the mill, then stay in contact with you throughout, keeping you up to date and your order on schedule.

Bespoke Silk Atelier

Custom digital printing and dyeing on our PFD silk bases, done in house by our atelier.

01

Choose your base

  • Your base sets the width of your print: 114cm to 140cm.
02

Print or dye

  • Custom digital printing of your own artwork
  • Artisanal hand dyeing, solid dyeing, or a botanical colour match
03

Send your artwork or colour

  • Printing: TIFF, PDF or PSD at 300 DPI, up to 500MB. Choose a grid, half drop or seamless tile repeat.
  • Dyeing: send Pantone references, mood boards or swatches.
04

Approve a sample

  • Before the full order, we can print a 30 x 30cm sample on your chosen base so you can check colour and detail.
05

Brief us

  • Your target date
  • What you are making
  • Finishing: hand rolled hems, bias binding, or cut to panel
06

Quote and production

  • We send you a quote based on your brief.
  • Once you approve it, production begins, and we stay in contact with you throughout, keeping you up to date on timing.
